Your involvement is crucial to our success!
We're always looking for dedicated volunteers to help us provide a great
experience for our young athletes. Here are some ways you can contribute:
Coaching
Share your love of baseball or softball: Coach the next generation of young players. Becoming a BSLL coach.
Umpiring
Ensure fair play: Become a certified umpire and help keep games running smoothly. Check
out our Umpires page for more info. BSLL will
provide in-person trainings as well.
Events
Organize and carry out: Help plan and run exciting events like opening ceremonies and
fundraising events. League events are a fun way to get involved. Contribute to fundraising efforts through car
washes, bake sales, and raffles.
Field Maintenance
Keep our fields in top shape: Volunteer to help with field upkeep and maintenance. There
are many tasks that help keep the fields playable and safe for our players year round. No experience
necessary.
Ready to volunteer?
You may sign-up to volunteer in any capacity through our online registration system at the same time you
register your child. If you do not have a child playing in the league, you will need to create an account, then you
may sign-up as a volunteer.

As the parent or family member of a Little Leaguer, you are committed to making your child's sports
experience as rewarding as possible. Little League baseball and softball offers some tips on participating as a
volunteer in our local league, as well as ways you can help develop the concepts of character, courage and loyalty
in your Little Leaguer.

Little League Background Check Policy
Volunteers within our league (managers, coaches, members of the board, parent volunteers, volunteer or
hired workers who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to or contact with players or
teams), MUST submit annually a "Little League Volunteer Application."
Bend South Little League conducts a National Criminal File database search that includes criminal records
and sex offender registry records across 50 states.
Volunteers may receive a copy of their full report and/or dispute a criminal record associated with their
report by contacting JDP at (855) 940-3232. If a negative record is reported on a volunteer’s background report,
they will automatically receive a copy via U.S. Mail.Bend South Little League will supply the volunteer with a copy
of the report if they intend to take adverse action based on the information in the background report.
